Battle of the Clubs – Portraits
After what seemed to be a very short month, the August edition of Digital SLR User magazine landed on the door mat. We already knew we’d retained our first place position, but unfortunately we didn’t make it into the pages of the magazine. The judges gave our Landscape images a combined score of 42, which still leaves us with a 4 point margin at the top of the leader board.
I don’t know which is more difficult, taking the images or choosing them for this competition? The standard of work we’re seeing in the magazine is truly excellent. That’s not just from DAPA Group members, but the competition standard on the whole.
Round Six (6) is Portraits, possible our strongest subject? We certainly have more award winning images in the category than all the other subjects put together. I only hope I’ve made the right choice with these:

The Passage of Time, John Powell BPE3

We Can Make It, John Powell BPE3

A Little Bit of Me, Phil Barrett
